About Plasma Cutting

The technology behind plasma cutting involves a thermal cutting process in which a beam of ionized gas, or plasma, heats an electrically conductive metal beyond its melting point. It then blows away the melted material, leaving a hole or a cut. As a plasma torch is moved across material, a cut is made, much like that of a saw blade. Plasma cutting can be done using a hand-held torch, however a table mounted plasma cutter with a computer-controlled gantry system can be used for speed and a higher degree of accuracy for more complicated cutting operations.

Types of Plasma Cutting Systems

At Victory CNC Plasma Systems, we excel in providing cutting-edge CNC plasma solutions that are not only cost-effective but also highly efficient. Our comprehensive lineup features a variety of options, including conventional plasma cutters like the Powermax125 and MAXPRO200, alongside advanced high-definition models such as the XPR and HPRXD. The key advantage of our high-definition plasma cutters lies in their innovative torch design and precise gas control, ensuring impeccable, oxide-free cuts, especially in materials like mild steel. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to exceptional customer support and the ability to tailor customization options to meet your unique cutting requirements. Whether you operate in manufacturing or fabrication, Victory CNC Plasma Systems stands ready to elevate your cutting processes with precision and reliability.

Plasma Cutting System Applications

Plasma cutting systems allow simple or complex shapes to be cut from materials such as carbon steels, stainless steel, aluminum and titanium. Any material that will conduct electricity can be cut with a plasma torch. Some materials, such as those that create toxic fumes, can be cut with plasma cutting systems that incorporate venting, gas selection, and other special features. Advantages offered by CNC plasma cutting systems include rapid, repetitive cutting with a high degree of accuracy. Automated plasma cutting replaces tedious, multi-step cutting and drilling processes, which improves efficiency by saving hours of layout and cleanup work.

Plasma Cutting Software

Victory uses only Hypertherm software, which works seamlessly with Hypertherm hardware. CNC plasma cutting systems work in concert with all drawing origination software, such as AutoCAD, using a universal export (interchange) format called DXF. There are many brands available. CAD is not a Hypertherm product. Drawings saved in a DXF format are easily imported into mechanized plasma cutting systems. Hypertherm’s Phoenix cutting soft residing on the EDGE Connect controller futures the absolute best human interface (HMI) available in the market today. The controller is a solid-state intuitive controller with touchscreen input created through 50 years of experience in the plasma business. Hypertherm ProNest PC is an office nesting software both powerful and intuitive. It maximizes production and minimizes waste. ProNest PC does include a basic CAD module. ProNest PC offers many time saving modules including Teckla and Innovator interfaces for structural fabricators. ProNest features 64 commonly used pre-drawn shapes easily modified by adding your dimensions. Multiples of the same part are instantly added to a cut sequence with onscreen selections of ideal plasma cut settings for any given material thickness in Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum. When coupled to a X-def plasma all gas settings are automatically set and cutting is ready to begin.
